It's easy to think that the only thing you'll find in Wiltshire that's a feast for the eyes is the iconic Stonehenge - and you're right to visit it if you find yourself in the area. But we wanted to share with you some of our favourite places to visit in the area that we can highly recommend.
West View is in the middle of the Salisbury Plains, which is pretty much in the middle of Wiltshire. This makes it ideal for visiting lots of places all across the county, and you'll know that you're only a short distance to get back and chill out after your adventures.
Wiltshire has eight white horses that are still visible, although records say that were were 13 at one point. One of the best known is the Westbury White horse that is just over 11 miles from us. Visit Wiltshire has a fab page with details on where to find the rest. And if you are into paragliding make sure you pack your kit, it's a great places to take off.
The county also has a great canal route, the Kennet and Avon. In Devizes you will find the collection of locks called the Caen Hill Locks. 16 steps between the two levels. Thankfully there is a tearooms part way in case you need a breather and a sugar fix. Check out the Caen Hill Cafe
Finally for this blog, I recommend visiting the beautiful woods and forests around Marlborough. The biggest is Savernake, it has some incredible ancient trees and beautiful walks. Check the website to see about cycling there. I took this photo at a nearby woods called West Woods, every late April and early May it has the most incredible carpet of bluebells.
